Embed Your Video in a Moodle Page

1)  Copy (cmd-C) the embed code from your youtube video.

2)  Log into Moodle, go to the page you want to embed your video in, ensure editing is turned on and then click the edit button.

For this example we will assume you are updating a page instead of creating a new one.  If you are creating a new page, the instructions still apply...you will just need to follow the instructions as if there was not content in your page to begin with.

3)  Look for the place in your page where you want to add your video, then click the HTML button.  In the example below, we want the video to go below the word “embedded.”

4) A quick way to find your bearings within the HTML is to type cmd-F to bring up the find box, then type in your desired words.  For this example, we use “embedded.”

You will see the word get highlighted as you type it into the find box.  We want the video under the word “embedded,” so put the cursor underneath that word and paste (cmd-V) your embed code.  Hit “Update.”

5)  It will take you back to the content editing screen where you can see the video is embedded.

6)  If you don’t like how little you can see in this editing window, you can drag the bottom right corner to make it bigger.

7)  At this point you can drag the video around the content area to exactly where you would like it to be if it didn’t show up where you wanted it.

8)  Once it is placed to your liking, click “Save and display” to see how it will look to your users.
